About Me

I’m Bernadette Scott, Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in South Carolina, LPCC in North Dakota and founder of Spring of Grace Counseling. I’ve worked in various settings between community mental health and group practices. I have 5 years of experience working with children, teens, and adults.

Currently, I primarily work with adults who feel emotionally overwhelmed, stuck in patterns of putting others first, or unsure of how to trust themselves and their own decisions. I especially enjoy helping clients move beyond insight alone and begin making small, meaningful changes in their lives and relationships.

You don’t have to manage everything alone. Here, healing doesn’t mean “getting it together” — it means letting yourself be met with care, presence, and grace.

My approach is grounded in evidenced-based practices like Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and guided by the values of compassion, presence and emotional flexibility. Therapy with me is collaborative and active, while still leaving room to process, laugh, and simply be human.

The word compassion comes from the Latin compati, which means “to suffer with.” This is at the heart of my work — to meet you where you’re at and collaborate with each other in the hopes of finding solutions.
